DFFB GOES FANTASY FILMFEST

Over time, Fantasy Filmfest has regularly shown shorts and graduation films by students. This year, the festival would like to offer itself as a forum for discussion with regards to the state of German genre cinema. What are the visions and future plans of young filmmakers? Under which conditions are their films produced and how well does German genre cinema fare in the international market? We invite festival visitors, film fans and friends to see for themselves, over a free selection of films and following conversation with their creators, moderated by Anna de Paoli, producer and lecturer at the DFFB. The line-up is as follows:

THE BOY WHO WOULDN’T KILL

The story of a young man on the search for freedom in the vastness of an apocalyptic world.

BULIMIA PURPURA

A lonely man in a cluttered apartment, in his throat an infinitely long and gross piece of string.

PILZ

A mother and her young son seek shelter from the mist that envelopes the world outside.

SALEM

When Mara‘s mother is discharged from a psychiatric hospital, Mara has to face demons from her past.
